This was a productive day for two reasons: 1- I rode my bike for more than a mile and 2- I was able to get photos of some of the horses. In fact, they came by this afternoon as I was coming back from the shower to see if my grass was greener than that on the other side of the pond/slash puddle.
Please see the slide show to the right for all of the photos. Click on it for page-sized pics.
Today was a great day with little wind, about 70 maybe, and lots of sun. I rode my bike from the campsite out to the main road that goes over the bridge to the mainland. My goal was to ride over the bridge and back. Let's say I 'went' over the bridge and back. I almost made it over. Coming back was not even in the realm of possibilites for this newbie to cycling again after 30 years. But it was fun, except for the exxesive thirst and lack of water anywhere. I had counted on the snack bar at the end of the State park to be open - not. And I lost my money in the machine on the other side of the bridge. It was on, but no drinks! Going back to the V was hard, but I got to stop a few times to look at some birds: a couple of green herons, a warbler I couldn't ID and a sparrow which I also couldn't ID.
At this time there are a couple of fantastic sounding frogs croaking around the vicinity of the V. They almost sound as though they are talking, but I know that can't be true...
Tomorrow I head for Milford, DE to meet up with my cousin, Cathy (also known as my trip advisor) and Eleanor, who lives in Milford. We'll have a little get together, then I will be going around looking at possible spots to live in Delaware. I'll be happy if the reception is a a bit better so that I can post a blog in a shorter amount of time.
Aloha

I love those cute ponies - they are so pretty ... and such beautiful photos by Fifi. Thank you for posting them in spite of the difficult internet connection there.
But I do so hate to think that the ponies may have to swim to Chincoteague at the end of July, and then go live with some stupid person and depend on that person for everything. Let's hope the ponies have a better feeling about humans that I do, and let's hope the ponies are right. They certainly seem content to be near the RVs and the people who come inside them.
And how lucky Feef is to be there because there is nothing like the smell of horse manure -- I love it!
Needless to say, I envy you! What a life! The scenery is awesome. Being a red-neck from Florida, I have never been where you are. I cannot imagine how it must be to just drive until you're ready to stop, enjoy the wildlife and scenery then just get back into your "home" and move on. Maybe some day I'll get to do something fun like that. . .but, until then I'll just continue to follow you and enjoy your escapades right along with you. What a gal! You are just too much! By thw way, I still don't have carpet in the bay bathroom.
Cute ponies! Watch down by the ocean for them, too. They like to stand in the water and just stare off at the horizon. Of course, it may not be warm enough yet for them to do that.
Good luck w. the prospective property hunting.
Ride on, Feef, ride on!
Hi Feef--Just now catching up on your latest escapades. Great adventures and great reading! The pony pictures are wonderful. Too bad about the poop...deal with it! Comes with the territory. I'll email you with the site to track my own upcoming trip in case you want to read about it.
Keep on RVing, girlfriend!
