Happy days are here again, the sky above is clear again. . .
Well, they said it couldn't be done. Thanks to a great realtor and a good house in a great neighborhood, Fifi is all but outta here!
Stay tuned for the adventures of Fifi on the move.

Go east, young woman, go east. I'm almost as happy as you are. Thank goodness for single women.
Wowser! Congratulations! You are da bomb! Can't wait 'til you are back in the womb of the eastern seaboard, or whatever they call it...
What a beautiful (and rare) sight to behold! Congratulations Fifi, and can't wait for Chapter 3 to begin.
At last! Something to crow about! Congrats, Feef! How does it REALLY feel to be free. . . no boundaries. . . just a drifter. Well, you can always drift down this way. What has the east got that we haven't got? Now just sit back and enjoy!
Hey, Piano Man~~~ I'll tell ya what the east has---Variety!! i.e. the mountains, the lakes, the seashore, the forests, cool nights, warm days, etc., that's what! :) BTW, you, sir, are invited to visit Paradise, PA any time you venture north!! :)
Good Morning, Gemma. . . You are absolutely right. . . all that plus, snow storms, icy roads, gloomy days, high winds, broken legs and arms from slipping, cars won't start, etc., etc. Other than that I guess it's pretty nice up there IN THE SUMMER TIME. Actually, I guess there's something for everybody. As for me, give me the sunshine state. . . especially in the winter.
Piano Man: Feef can go to FLA in the winter, and I may tag along with her. I've been dying to sample The Duke's cooking. The Cuz.
Rebel VS Yankee
Now Gemma and Piano Man:I hope we're not having a N v S feud. I like both areas. I happen to like Florida very much in the Winter time and the Northeast in the Spring, Autumn and some of the Summer. Now I would be happy to go back and forth, as I am soon to be free as a bird. We'll all have to get together sometime and talk about the merits of different areas of the U.S.A.
Piano Man - Florida is your home and you love it there. (I also like the Bay House).
The Northeast is our home and we love it, though I haven't lived there since 1979. Ugh
My brother (the contractor) and I loaded the remainder of what would fit into my storage unit an hour ago. We literally had to hold the mattresses while lowering the door. The rest has to go into SCargo, then I hope to store it in the Contractor's barn until the final move, wherever and whenever that is.
As fate would have it, there are last minute concerns by the buyer.
There are 5 issues that could be safety problems which will be fixed. The rest are notations by the inspector which makes the buyer think they are life and death. We are negotiating.(Closing is supposed to be Tues, the 5th. )After all, it's about the best it could ever be for a buyer in this market. She wants everything short of a new home built on my property. (I exaggerate) I had alcohol last night and feel much better about it.
Will keep everyone posted. It's not a done deal till it's over. . .
WOW!!! Congrats Feef...and for the record...I'm not at all surprised in the speediness of this. Mr. Pat has NEVER steered me wrong and obviously he came through for you too Feef (with the realtor)....Mr. Pat is also going to be my biggest asset when it comes time for me to pick a builder....in Delaware. I expect you may be picking his brain for the same reasons in the very near future?
Happy hunting. Let me know when you are back in the area.
Aw, Piano Man....You know I luv ya! And you were so downright funny!! Guess I tend to forget about winter during these dog days of summer. But, the snow IS beautiful, too, especially here in Paradise, PA. Aaannndd--we have a generator! Yay for us! Why dontcha come up and see us sometime, big boy? :) You would be most welcome!
Go Cuz Go
Dear Gemma. . . You are so right. The snow is beautiful and the mountains are awesome. Aren't we fortunate to live in a country that offers so much? If I were a rich man (which I'm not) and had a nice motor home (which I don't)and gas wasn't $4.00/gal. (which it isn't),I'd love to just start driving without any destination in mind. I'd like to see everything everywhere. And by the way, I once had an office in Media, Pa and a condo in Swarthmore and loved every minute of it. Hmmmmm. . . I wonder if all that is still there. Oh, well. . . right now I have to be content sweltering in the heat and humidity. . . but, better days are ahead.
Wow, Piano Man,
Now that you have fessed up that you once lived smack in the middle of our territory, we blog readers are going to want you to move back and get that condo again.
All those in favor - say aye!
AYE!
AYE!
It's a small world after all. I used to work in Media, now I work in Swarthmore. Everything is still the same. Media is quaint and Swarthmore is still a dry town. lol
How heartwarming is that? I can close my eyes and just see the oars moving those "boats" (what do you call those long canoe-looking things, anyway) down the Schulkil(I know, I misspelled that, too. And, what ever happened to Bookbinders? I really miss the snapper soup. Yes, those were the good old days. Who knows. . . maybe one day I'll drift up that way again just for "old times sake". And Fife. . . what a great bunch of bloggers you have. Can't help but love 'em.
What I want to know is if you were able to get that nice party boat launched at the Bay Place. Oops! Shouldn't have said that. Now all these bloggers will be making reservations to party on at the Bay Place.
Sculling at boathouse row? Bookbinders went downhill for a long time, but maybe it's on the way back to greatness.
Here's Bookbinder's menu with snapper soup on there. I think it is time we all met up there.
