This is my last morning on the island. I took the final walk through the trails at the sanctuary. The migrants have gone, at least this wave of them. I could hear and sometimes see: cardinal, wren, catbird, woodpecker, mockingbird, jay; what I believe to be residents here.
The news is good though - I'm driving over to the western panhandle of Florida today to meet up with my hometown friend again. She is driving up from her home in Gainesville to rendevous with me at her neighbor's house. Her neighbor, who I met on the January trip, we affectionately call 'Piano Man'. He has graciously offered his house in the panhandle as a place for us to meet up and hook up the RV. He will be along in a day or two to show us his area of Florida.
I am working on a photo gallery of the birds I saw on the island. That will be posted tonight if the signal on this computer cooperates.
***Those of you who still check on the first blog site - stay tuned. We will report the further adventures of Feef and Nita on there.

Hoo-yah!! I'm soooo glad J-nita is coming to you! I'm also a tad jealous. I wish I could meet Piano Man and spend time with the two (er, three,) of you. Maybe someday....
A phone call from J-nita and Feef last evening confirmed to me that they made the trip to the Bay Place just fine. I'm so envious! I wish I were up there, but, alas, I must stay here and grind out a living; however, I will join them tomorrow (4-24) and then the FUN BEGINS! I wonder if I might prevail upon Feef to assist me in another bathroom carpet installation. That might be asking a little too much, tho'. We'll just concetrate on the fun part this time. . . you know, wining, dining, dancing, karaokeing, etc. Whew! I'm tired already.
